Tim Small's web server
Not much here yet. In the future there may be things like layout,
and navigation. Back in the mid 1990s, most web pages looked a bit
like this (e.g. Yahoo).
At the moment, I'm busy working on my eternal building site, and
flat, and don't have much time to update this page. When I have
finished I should have some more time to add more content too.
If you are interested, you can also have a look at
my personal C.V. (Resume)
although it is currently slightly out of date.
Things that I have found the time to do include:
- A memory controller ECC status kernel module for the Intel/Radisys 82600 embedded x86 chipset, as part of the Linux EDAC (Error Detection and Correction) project - formerly called "bluesmoke". If you want ECC status reporting for your Linux box, have a look at the Wiki and SourceForge pages. The EDAC bugzilla is also hosted on this server.
- Minor work on the Linux
driver for Atmel AT76c503a based 802.11b adaptors
- Some (incomplete) efforts to get support for my Texas Instruments PCI1031
based PCMCIA <-> PCI bridge into the Linux kernel. Note this
patch against 2.4.20 isn't finished yet, but Works For Me (tm)
- Work on the DIY
Zoning project to get my flat's radiators under control (other
people might prefer to go out any buy a few single room thermostats
and timers)
- A howto for setting up
IPMI, and Serial Over LAN support on Linux (Debian/Sarge) - it
is specifically aimed at the Intel SR2300 and SE7501WV2 server
motherboards, but is likely to be widely applicable to other boards
which implement IPMI.
- Howto add a DVI
output to Some IBM Thinkcentres, which appear to have knobbled AGP
slots
- A bit of work on a Debian
package for DSPAM
All of my current photo albums
(actually, to be honest, I don't seem to have the time to keep
these very current)..

Now Reading
The Backroom Boys: The Secret Return of the British Boffin - Francis Spufford
Seems extremely well written so far - highly recommended
Just Read
The Consolations of Philosophy - Alain de Botton
Pretty good book, some excellent insights, good for people like
me who are too lazy to read philosophy by the greats themselves...
Other People, and Projects
An extremely fine sculptor, and friend of mine has - understandably
given his name - been having trouble getting a reasonable index
rank for his web site - in an effort to help, - here you will find some pictures of
the sculpture, and other stone work (e.g lettering) of Will
Spankie.
In its spare time, this server is helping researchers investigate climate change.
