Soft Errors occur in fully working, non-faulty semiconductor devices.

Historically many soft errors came from trace radioactive element in the semiconductor package.

These days, nearly all are believed to come from cosmic radiation.

Rare but practically unavoidable.

Many factors determine their frequency.
